GUIDELINES

Do no harm to any member of the community or to the community itself.

Tactfulness is not a legal requirement in the realm of political free speech, but it's a reasonable expectation within a voluntary community.

Types of posts that should be considered harmful:

• Posts containing information known to be false.


• Posts including copyrighted material without permission of the copyright owner.


• Posts which are hateful, taunting or harassing.


• Posts which are invasive of personal privacy.


• Posts which are in violation of any law.

I have purposely left out any reference to vulgarity, obscenity, or sexually oriented material. We are all adults here and the occasional swear word is going to slip out, the occasional nipple may be exposed, and inuendo can run amuck. Use good judgement and realize that this is a mixed board with both male and female members. Consider this to be an "R" rated board and you shouldn't cross the line to the "X" rating.

Now how do we handle "violations"? I suggest we establish a Quarantine thread (QT). If you feel a post is in violation of the guidelines or of the one "rule", copy and paste it to the QT. Then post the number of the post copied (or otherwise identify the post you feel is violative) to the QT to redirect discussion. Any and all further discussion of that post should occur in the QT. If it is determined to be a violation of the personal attack rule the penalties will be enforced. If it is determined to be a violation of the other guidelines appropriate action can be discussed in the QT.

Do not start firing off PMs asking that something be done. The people that have put this thing together have lives outside of this forum and cannot spend a great deal of time handling complaints.

The one daily thread model was based on the previous forum at the old location. Some of you would prefer a traders only thread. I vote no on that as it ends up being dillutive. As long as everyone respects that this is primarily a trading forum and keeps any non trading posts brief during the trading day, I can't see how it harms a traders activity. Frankly if anyone is hanging on every post and trying to day trade soley off the posts here, they're probably already in trouble.

Finally if you simply don't like another member's posts, use the ignore feature or scroll on by.
